I am a self-taught painter originally from Vicenza, Italy but my heart has found its home in the serene Cheshire landscapes in the northwest of England for more than half my lifetime.

My Story

I paint and draw purely for the love of the creative process, aiming to capture the essence of cherished memories together with the changing light and atmosphere that surround them.

My work is rooted in careful observation, but rather than chasing photographic detail, I now tend to preserve the feeling of a moment through colour, light and expressive mark-making. If a painting can bring back a memory or an emotion, then I feel it has achieved what I set out to do.

After many years of experimenting with different media, I have come to favour soft pastels for their brilliance and charcoal for its primitive force. Both offer an immediacy that allows me to respond instinctively to the subject before me.

For me, painting remains one of life's most rewarding passions.
